This is an interesting aspect for the ship, flying just above the rings. However unless the ship is extremely large it appears to be out of scale for the planet and rings. It may well be that enormous, but if that is an Earth sized planet this ship is several miles across. Also I think the rings are very close to the world. I think particles that close would decay out of orbit fairly quickly. The D ring of saturn is at 66,000 KM from the center of that world and the planet itself has a radius of 58,000 km. This means the innermost ring is around .1 planetary radii from the top of the atmosphere, this looks much closer. Individually I like all the elements, but I feel they are a bit out of proportion with each other. The idea is great. I can imaging how exciting it would be to skim just above the rings of a planet!
